You are in need of a place to notice these overwhelming feelings and cope with them without increased feelings of judgment. You are ready for life to feel less overwhelming, and for you to feel back in the driver’s seat.
Skills we will utilize together:
CBT skills:
Focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. We will break down the three components and witness their interplay.
ACT skills:
Grounding in the acceptance that we have undesirable feelings and thoughts at times. Through diffusion we can separate them from the self, and use mindfulness and assertion of your values to help you feel more aligned and in control.
Mindfulness skills:
Strengthening your ability to notice what you feel and when you are in a heightened state and need grounding skills to help you cope. This can look like: deep breathing, going on walks, practicing yoga and/or meditation, doing body scans/visualizations in and out of session, etc.

As we change and grow, so too do our coping needs and strategies. I always make sure to reassess chosen strategies with my clients to ensure we are still utilizing the most helpful skills. This can also help us create new ones together, without needing to reinventing the wheel.

Sometimes there will be goals or tasks we set together in session, using our next meeting as a place for accountability. Most “homework” is journal reflecting or completing a task discussed during session. I do not use worksheets.

There is no one way to strengthen your ability to connect mind and body. I make sure to tailor skills and strategies to my clients’ individual needs and interests. Not everyone likes yoga or walks, and that’s ok! Not everyone likes body scans, no worries! Together we will find something for you.
