Can you remember a time when life felt easier?
When you did not feel so exhausted or disconnected from your body? When you felt more open to trying new things and meeting new people? Or maybe you even felt like there was time to actually take a break and be still?
Let’s work together to get you back to that grounded place and help you feel more in control of the way your life is going.
My name is Nicole Brown and I help women and non binary/queer adults like you get back a sense of calm and control in a life that might feel chaotic and full of dread.
I help my clients find a sense of clarity in who they are, how they feel, and what they need. With this clarity, my clients are able to build lives filled with authentic and healthy relationships. They feel confident in navigating life’s challenges through the use of individualized coping skills and setting boundaries. And most importantly, my clients are able to return to a place of safety and calm through our incorporation of somatic cuing and practicing of grounding skills.
While there has been an overall shift in the general public’s awareness for the impact trauma has on our mental health, many practitioners continue to use skills like mindfulness and cognitive reframing as a one-size-fits-all model that leaves many to feel like they are stuck to feel this way forever. Together, we will utilize skills that best meet your individualized needs.
If this is your first time searching for therapy, welcome! I am passionate about working with clients who are new to this process and love building a safe space for them to grow their abilities to know themselves and start to build the life they want.
I know that your life and your experiences are unique, and so together we will build insights and strategies that are unique to you.
First, we will build foundational insight to what you are feeling at present and how you feel that in your body. We will work together to notice somatic cuing for feelings like anxiety, depression, amongst others, and how you experience not just in your thoughts, but also in your body.
Then, we will start to notice and explore how these feelings and sensations shift as you navigate different spaces and relationships.
From there, we will begin to build coping strategies, set needed boundaries, and make the changes you need to live your best life.
I am dedicated to helping my clients quiet the chaos and build a life filled with authenticity and autonomy.
My training in EMDR and somatic practices means that I have the expertise you need and deserve when healing and rebuilding a life that has been impacted by trauma and toxic relationships. I have dedicated my career to helping individuals repair from anxiety, depression, and trauma to build more confidence and trust in themselves to make the changes necessary in their lives.
I know that it can feel scary and overwhelming to begin the process of healing. Together, we will set the pace of our work to what you need it to be, instead of what others might expect you need. We are on no one’s timeline but your own, and together we will help you get back in control of a life that might feel uncontrollable.
